The Iowa wrestling team has become absolutely dominant again under Tom Brands in the last two years.
ReplyDeleteWe are witnessing one of the most impressive seasons since Dan Gable's final year as the Hawkeyes head coach and I'm not sure the student body is appreciating just how good Iowa has been. One of my roommates attends home meets religiously but it seems as though most students couldn't care less about regular season meets, no matter the opponent.
I find this to be especially true for out-of-state students who have no previously background of knowledge of the sport.
What does everyone else think?
I would agree that the student section for home duals is indeed a sparse crowd. Although, if I wasn't cover the team (and never got the chance last season, and never worked for the DI) I can't say I would be there either. Except, I think that would be based more on my ignorance than anything.
